I am Robert Birt and I own RBB Environmental & Pest Control. I have had a lifetime
involvement in wildlife management and pest control.
My life experiences and career reflect my background and strong work ethic.
I started my working life as a Regular Soldier in the British Army. After five years I left the Army
and travelled to Australia. On returning to the UK, I took up various jobs before deciding to
become a full time student in Agricultural College at Merrist Wood in Surrey where I achieved a
National Certificate in Habitat Management.
After college I got a job as a Wildlife Ranger with the Forestry Commission first in South East
England then in Kielder Forest District. After 5 years with the Commission I was offered a job
working in the Selous Game Reserve in Tanzania, East Africa. I returned to the UK 9 months
later when I was mobilised back to the army for operational duties as a serving member of the
Territorial Army. I stayed in the Regular Army for the next seven years in which time I was a
member of the Defence Deer Management group. On leaving the Army in 2012 I became a
qualified pest control technician with a company and then worked my way to a pest control
surveyor. After gaining a good working knowledge of the pest control industry and with my
Wildlife Ranger background I decided to start my own Environmental Management and Pest
Control business and have never looked back since!
I have attended numerous training courses and lessons in all aspects of environmental issues,
wildlife management and pest control over the years and here is a list of some of the
qualifications that I have attained:-
RSPH (BPCA) level 2 in Pest Management,
National Certificate Countryside Related Studies in Habitat Management (Distinction),
Deer Stalking Certificates Level 1 & 2,
I am a Deer Management Qualification Level 2 Approved Witness,
NPTC in chainsaw operations levels 10,11 & 16,
